What Is IGF-1 LR3?
IGF-1 LR3 is a modified version of insulin-like growth factor 1, a protein involved in signals that tell cells to grow and use nutrients.
How Does It Work?
Natural IGF-1 often travels attached to other proteins. LR3 has structural changes that make it bind less strongly to those carrier proteins. Scientists use this difference to investigate how the availability of a growth signal affects cells.
Why Is It Studied?
